The code has five chapters covering everything from personal conduct to fair and professional play, and acceptance along with a personal oath is compulsory for members of the Association, who include many of international poker's top playing professionals and amateur contestants.

The code deals with general provisions against issues such as collusion, lack of professionalism and courtesy, and relationships between players, dealers and managements. The objective is to enhance professional conduct and respect for the game. Play online poker.

The non-profit Association is registered in Nevada and boasts a growing membership of almost 1 400. It was set up to provide unity through an organisation designed to influence the future outcome of tournament poker, representing the views of players & women poker players individually and as a group, and speaking with one voice.

In addition to Jones, the board of directors includes influential American legal, business and government affairs consultant Wendeen Eolis, 2005 World Series of Poker champ Joe Hachem, editor and author Lou Krieger, top European player Marcel Luske and Paul Wasicka, runner-up in the 2006 World Series of Poker main event and winner of the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Championship.
