Affiliate Series of Poker Registrations Now Open

Following a very exciting ASOP in the Bahamas where Ace Jones from www.roundersradio.com took first place, affiliates have been biting at the bit to get their hands on an ASOP bracelet of their own, and now just a few months on they have their chance. Play online poker.

The ASOP started in January at CAP Euro in London where Astronaut of www.internetcasinot.com became the first winner. The event itself is a poker tournament specifically for affiliates where the prize pool adds up to an impressive $22,000 plus importantly for the winner a gold bracelet complete with 140 diamonds, and if that doesn’t get you attention at the tables nothing will.

The best news is that it is completely free to enter the online poker qualifying tournaments you just have to be an affiliate and be attending CAP Euro in Barcelona to fight it out with the other 36 qualifiers. Don’t worry if you have never played poker before, because you can do all your learning in the online qualifiers as the organisers have a total of eight tournaments in which you can qualify through so there are plenty of opportunities to get a seat. However, you still need to get through the previous two champions who both are out to win a second bracelet for the other wrist. Play $500 match poker bonus.

Astronaut said: “If you are planning to participate, be warned - I won the first ASOP and now I aim to become the first two time winner!'

“I won't go down without a fight in defending my championship!” Ace Jones commented. Women poker players.

Whether you are a card shark or a minnow there is no excuse not to take part in this event – you have seen the stars on TV, now it's your turn to be the winner, and let our community know you are the best, or just dam lucky. Simply go to www.asop.com for more information or to sign up.

This event wouldn't happen if we didn't get sponsorship so a big thank you to Aff Club (Royal Flush Sponsor) & Affiliate Web Attractions (Straight Flush Sponsor) for sponsoring the poker tournament.

World Series of Poker Qualifiers' Schedule Released

There Are Twelve Events This Year Which Offer a Free Entry to the WSOP If You Win

Now that this year's World Series Of Poker is over, it's time to sit back and relax right? Not necessarily true, especially if you want to win a free seat to participate in next year's WSOP. Harrah's Entertainment has released the qualifier schedule through an affiliate. According to a press release from Harrah's Liscense Company, LLC there will be twelve qualifiers throughout the upcoming year for poker players to earn a seat at the World Series Of Poker Main Event. The main event will be held in Las Vegas.

Qualifiers start in under a month with the first event at Grand Casino Tunica. This event will be held from August 29th through September 13th of this year. October also has just one qualifier, and that will be held at Caesars Indiana on October 17th through November 2nd. Play route 66 poker.

November starts to get into a busier period of time for qualifiers as there will be three held over a 6 week period. The first begins on November 3rd at Harvey's Tahoe Casino. Next will be the Harrah's New Orleans Casion event, and then in the middle of December Harrah's Atlantic City Casino will host a qualifier as well. The qualifiers then take a break for the holidays.

January will see qualifiers held back once again at the Grand Casino Tunia to start the month off on the 3rd, and then will have another one at the end of the month at Harrah's Rincon sSan Diego North on January 27th. February and March each only have one qualifier. February's begins on the 18th at Horseshoe Counil Bluffs, and March's is held at Caeser's Atlantic City Casino on the 5th. The qualifiers end with three in a five week period with Caesars Indiana hosting another qualifier on April 2nd, Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas hosting on on April 20th, and Harrah's New Orleans hosting their second qualifier and the last qualifier of the schedule on May 9th. Play $500 match poker bonus.

The cost at the qualifiers is $5,000 to buy-in with the first place prize including a seat at the 2008 WSOP's Main Event in Vegas. Other smaller games will be held at this events as well in the form of satellites. A satellite game gives players & women poker players a chance to pay a smaller entry fee, and win a seat in the qualifier if they win the satellite instead of having the pay the $5,000 entry fee for the qualifier.

Due to legislation that was passed in 2007, online poker & gambling for real money is illegal in the United States. This has significantly reduced the amount of participants at the WSOP in Las Vegas, and has also lowered the number of guarenteed seats. The amount of seats that can be won online now are much fewer, which increases the attendance at these qualifier poker tournaments. For further details about the qualifiers, contact that casino that will be hosting them, or visit Harrah's website.

California Man Circulates Petition for State-Run Online Poker Site

He Needs 430,000 Signatures by Mid-December

A Californian man has launched a petition that would allow state voters to decide if California should establish a state-owned online poker site.

Anthony Sandstrom submitted the proper forms to California state offices that allow him to circulate his petition, which is called Initiative for Potholes Repair Funded by A California State Owned Online Poker Site. He needs to collect 430,000 names in about four months for his initiative to be placed on a statewide ballot. Play $500 match poker bonus.

The initiative calls for 90 percent of the money that the state would make from online poker to go toward repairing potholes and “broken streets.” The other 10 percent would go to the California Gambling Addiction Program Fund.

The initiative calls for California to establish a division through the state’s lottery department that would tax regulate online poker.

Sandstrom could not be reached for comment, but here’s what he wrote on the website he established to spread the word about his petition:

“I personally have no interest in either online casino gambling or sports betting. I am just a guy who wants to play poker at home when I don’t feel like making an hour drive to a cardroom or casino. I am going to make a mighty effort to make safe, legal, and accessible online poker possible. At the same time, this effort can be of great benefit to the drivers of the State of California. Play route 66 poker.

PS: I am monumentally tired of the sorry state of the local streets too!

PPS: Online poker IS coming to the US. The question is when it will happen and who it will benefit. I vote for Californians to benefit.” Stay tuned to our poker blog for latest updates.

People interested in signing or learning more about the petition should visit his website (http://www.caonlinepoker.org/). All the details, as well as full text of the initiative, can be found there. If enough signatures are collected, the initiative will end up on the ballot in the spring.
