World Series of Poker Final Table
The final table of this year's World Series of Poker tournament main event takes place tonight. I'll post some details below the fold so those who wish to avoid spoilers can do so.The final table is set and there's only one relatively well known poker pro left, Lee Watkinson. That should not have been the case because the legendary Scotty Nguyen busted out in 11th place. Scotty was in great shape, moving from 2nd to last place up to the top 5 during yesterday's play. He had about $12.5 million in chips and could have safely made the final table but three hands in rapid succession sunk his chances. He lost $2.5 million when he flopped bottom pair on a board that included two kings and got called by Tuan Lam with pocket 10s. Download poker wallpapers.
Then he had AQ with a flop of Q 5 6 against Phillip Hilm. Both checked the flop, the turn was a K. Hilm bet half a million, Scotty instantly went all in for $10 million or so and Hilm called him immediately, turning over pocket 5s for a flopped set. Scotty was drawing dead. He had the bigger stack, so he doubled up Hilm and left himself with about $2 million in chips. A while later he flopped a four flusher and went all in, coincidentally against Hilm again, and the flush never came. He was out in 11th place. Online poker.
ESPN is quite disappointed at that, no doubt. Scotty is good TV, fun to watch. The last name player left, Watkinson, isn't exactly a magnetic personality. Three of the final nine are Poker Stars qualifiers. Play route 66 poker. Here's the final table chip counts:
