Many of poker’s biggest names compete in this week’s exciting match

Poker After Dark continues to provide viewers with exciting table match-ups in this week’s edition, as Gus Hansen, Chris Ferguson, Sam Farha, Clonie Gowen, Ted Forrest, and Tony G all compete for the $120,000 winner-take-all prize. Four of the players have previously appeared on the show, while Gowen and Forrest are making their debut.

Hansen was the winner of Week 1, the match that included the tantrum thrown by Phil Hellmuth. Gus will attempt to become the first two-time winner in the brief history of the show. It should be interesting to see whether Gus uses the same strategy he used against his opponents in Week 1, which included some tight play not normally associated with Hansen’s loose aggressive image. Completing the line-up is Ted Forrest, the winner of NBC’s 2006 National Heads-Up Poker Championship. Ted brings his impressive poker resume to the game along with some skills and moves demonstrated by only the most elite of players.

Brief profiles on all six participants follow. The match will begin airing late night Monday at 2:05 AM, Monday, July 23, and will continue for five consecutive nights in the same time slot. A special program called the "Director’s Cut" will air late night Saturday, July 28, at 1:00 AM, right after Saturday Night Live. This show will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the week with highlights and insightful player interviews, and conclude with the winner sitting down with Shana Hiatt to discuss and analyze the match.
