H.O.R.S.E. Kicks Off at WSOP

H.O.R.S.E. Kicks Off at World Series Of Poker Tournament.

The World Series of Poker’s World Championship H.O.R.S.E. event was late getting started at the Rio in Las Vegas, but it wasn’t because of the size of the field. Only 148 players & women poker pros set out to claim the H.O.R.S.E. title, but they each has to put up $50,000 in order to do so. The majority of the players are well known poker pros, such as Doyle Brunson, Greg Raymer and defending champion Chip Reese, who was slated to give the call to "shuffle up and deal" to get the event underway. The 15 minute delay in the start time did not seem to dampen anyone’s spirits. Download poker wallpapers.

Blind Man to Compete at WSOP

Sight isn’t a prerequisite to playing winning poker blog, as long as you have someone on hand to tell you what’s going on, and that will be the case for a Bakersfeild man who will be playing in Las Vegas at the World Series of Poker. Jason Holbrook, who started playing online poker & live poker at the age of five, lost his sight in an auto accident in May of 1991, right before his 21st birthday, but that hasn’t slowed down his game. Holbrook won a seat to the WSOP in a satellite at Golden West Casino on Monday, and will play the main event, where he feels his blindness will give him an edge. Play route 66 poker.

Poker Millionnaire Made in Small African Town of Piggs Peak, Swaziland

The air was thick with frenetic excitement as people gathered from all across the world for the highly anticipated 9th All Africa Poker Tournament, which was hosted at Piggs Peak Hotel & Casino in Swaziland this weekend. With a breathtaking prize pool of Three and a Half million Rand, it is no secret why this tournament has been dubbed “the richest poker tournament in Africa.”

With such high stakes, it comes as no surprise that the interest and participation in the All Africa Poker Tournaments, continue to grow exponentially. This time around, the tournament sported a field of 120 players & women poker players, 30 more than the previous tournament held in February 2007. Download poker wallpapers.

After a gruelling 30 hours at the poker table, 26 year old Claude Sacks claimed his title as All Africa Poker Champion - winning the much desired One Million Rand first prize as well as an all inclusive package to enter the World Series of Poker US$10,000 Main Event.

The heads up battle with former All Africa Poker finalist, Neville Eber, was filled with electrifying tension as Sacks’ proved his poker skill in an intense struggle, which most players would have given up on. The fighting spirit of a true poker player helped Sacks to grind his way back after losing the majority of his stack, to finally win the tournament. Once again the element of skill was affirmed in this game that is not recommended for the faint hearted. Play online poker.

It also became clear that poker is no longer the territory of men only, since eight ladies enrolled for the competition, with the highest finisher, Karin Hasseriis, ending in an excellent 14th place. Play $500 match poker bonus.

Party Poker Company PartyGaming in Talks with US Authorities

PartyGaming, the UK company that owns Party Poker and Party Casino, announced today that they are currently talking with authorities in the United States about the role of third parties involved with the company prior to the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

Few details are known for the reasons of why PartyGaming is contacting authorities from the southern district in New York, USA, but it is known that the company initiated the talks as a response to requests for information.

PartyGaming said it is too early to assess the likelihood of any particular outcome of these discussions, and also said that a further announcement will be made about their talks with the US DOJ if and when they deem it necessary.

Party Poker was the biggest poker site on the Internet before the US passed a law in October of 2006 stating that it was illegal for banking institutions to transfer funds to illegal gaming operations located off the shores of American land.

Party Poker stock movement is yet to be effected as news of the talks are brand new. The amount and specific kind of information the US authorities are requesting from PartyGaming is still unknown.
